New tax on lost golf balls...

Hello Golfers

Happy Easter to you all, I hope you enjoyed a few treasured days off at this time of year to relax and recover from your busy routines.
It is a great time of year to be doing most outdoor activities, especially walking onto the green turf and strapping on the golf shoes preparing yourself for walking the course in some beautiful sunshine and shooting some birdies and pars.

Another Aussie Champion

Australian Scott Hend won the inaugural Chiangmai Golf Classic after he carded a final-round 64 to beat South African Bryce Easton by three strokes at the Alpine Golf Resort on Sunday.
The 39-year-old Hend started the round six shots off the lead then fired eight birdies and an eagle on the fourth hole against two bogeys for a 20 under total of 268. This was Scott's third Asian Tour victory after the 2008 Indonesian President Invitational and 2012 Singapore Classic.
"I didn't think I'd have the chance of winning," Hend said.
"I just hoped that I would have a top-five finish, but ... everything just came together for me today."
In the field were two former Major winners Ernie Els of South Africa and Y.E. Yang of South Korea who faltered in the final round, shooting 70 and 73, respectively. Els finished in a tie for 14th on 12-under 276 with Yang a shot behind in joint 20th place.
Congratulations Scott

Masters Countdown

We are counting down the days now until the first major of the year the US Masters and what an event it promises to be. Tiger on the way up again, Rory stuttering and the field closing in on them both.
Watch out for some of the first round leaders, there are always some very surprising names up there after day 1 that sometimes fade away over the ensuing three days.
If you are thinking about tickets for this event, then I'm afraid your too late, applications will be sought for the 2014 event fairly soon. If you want to find out more follow this link.

or at least let them go some way to buying the new clubs you so desperately need.

PRO TIP:

Course Management

Most higher handicap golfers don't “think” their way around the golf course. The most common thread I hear from club golfers is how many wipes they had during their round.
Course management and thinking your way around the golf course will help improve scores and create consistency in your game. How do you do it?
Here are three basic examples:
1: If the pin sits closely to the right hand side of the green with a sand trap awaiting and you slice the ball, aim at the left portion of the green and not the stick.
2: Check the wind before you get to your address position, is it into, behind or from the side? This will affect your club selection.
3: You don't always need a driver, sometimes being further back with a clear shot is better than being nearer the green in the rough.
PS. Under current legislation there is no plan for any taxation on lost golf balls, happy April Fools dayeveryone.
