Hello Golfers,

Fast forward to another week and doesn't time fly? or so it seems. Three days have apparently raced by for those of us who enjoyed a long weekend. Adding further to the subject of time, NSW, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and the ACT, have commenced their daylight savings for the summer months, so make sure to change those clocks if you haven't done so already.
Congratulations to team USA on winning the Presidents Cup. Led by TIGER Woods the Americans raced home for a 18 1/2 -15 1/2 victory over the Internationals at rain-soaked Muirfield Village.

Team Australia

Adam Scott and Jason Day have confirmed they will represent Australia on home soil in the ISPS HANDA World Cup of Golf at The Royal Melbourne Golf Club from November 21-24.
Scott and Day, who have been dubbed the ‘super team’, will form part of an elite field of 60 players from around the world.
The event boasts a US $8 million total purse and returns to an individual stroke-play competition for $7 million with a concurrent team competition (adding the total scores of the two man teams) for $1 million. In addition the ISPS HANDA World Cup will provide Official World Golf Ranking points.
This is a fantastic coup for Australian golf fans, this summer promises to be one of the busiest and best seasons yet. Don't miss out on the action, make sure you book your tickets well in advance.
Minister for Tourism and Major Events, Louise Asher, commented: “_I am sure that the World Cup of Golf will be a great showcase for golf in this state. It is exciting that once again Royal Melbourne will be broadcast to a global audience through this top international competition._"
“_The 2013 World Cup of Golf is estimated to create between $25 million to $30 million in economic benefit to Victoria and will attract up to 9,000 interstate and international visitors. I would invite fans from around the country and overseas to visit Melbourne to experience the World Cup and everything Melbourne has to offer_”, Ms Asher said.
World No. 2 and current Masters champion Scott said: “I am looking forward to playing the ISPS HANDA World Cup and representing Australia at Royal Melbourne with Jason Day. It will be a great week for Australian golf where we will be playing a World Cup in Australia for the first time in 25 years!”
”_I’m looking forward to getting back down to play at Royal Melbourne_,” said Jason Day.
“_As I grew to love golf, I loved watching Adam Scott play. It’s fun to play the World Cup with a guy that I’ve known since I was 15. It is an honour to represent Australia. Hopefully Scotty and I can get a victory_.”

Up and coming

Patrik Rogders
Rodgers played every sport he could in his youth: basketball, baseball, football, golf. He draws a direct line between his diverse athletic background and his rampaging success on the course the past two years.
It's no surprise Rodgers made a smooth transition to college golf. He arrived at Stanford as one of the nation's top recruits, after winning the Porter Cup last summer, posting top-five finishes in two other prestigious amateur tournaments and making the U.S. team for the Walker Cup, the amateur equivalent of the Ryder Cup.
Last year, Rodgers won three tournaments and posted six Top 10 finishes. He remains the school’s career-leader in stroke average at 70.77. Tiger Woods averaged 71.1 in 1994-96.
Watch out Patrik is going to be on your screen very soon.

Well known for loving a cigar or two, Migual has featured many times in the top 20 of the Official World Golf Rankings. While defending his BMW PGA Championship title in 2009, Jiménez scored a rare albatross (double eagle) by holing a 206-yard (188 m) six-iron on his second shot on the par-five fourth. It was the second such feat of his competitive career.

The Almost Open Championship

Dublin’s Portmarnock, is a classic links built on land originally owned by the whiskey distiller John Jameson. This fabulous course sits on a peninsula tucked between the Velvet Strand and Baldoyle Bay, it also evokes thoughts of the St Andrews.
It has been described as a good, long, bold course, with plenty of natural features, according to one of the greatest of all Irish amateur golfers, Joe Carr, who won three British Amateurs and clusters of Irish championships, captained two Walker Cup teams, and was the first Irish Captain of the R&A.
Ireland should host an Open Championship sooner rather than later in our opinion, it is a stunning place for a golf course.

PRO TIP:

See it

Our eyes are a marvellous and central function in making a reliable golf swing with solid impact. If we see the ball well, we can find the sweet spot of the club-head firmly imparted onto the ball.
Hand-eye coordination is a reality. If we take our hands off the club, golf is almost impossible, equally if we close our eyes, golf is virtually impossible. If we are not looking at the ball at impact, we might as well have our eyes closed.
Try and see the ball come off the face of the club at impact, when you see the golf ball come off the club-face, you will love the sensation.
Happy golfing
