Deadly Golf SharksWhat next?:
Sharks have appeared to have taken advantage of the floods to invade a Logan golf course, with sightings reported at Riverlakes Golf Club yesterday and on Tuesday when the Logan River was at its peak.
After water submerged 13 of Riverlake's 18 holes management began fielding calls about possible shark sightings, operations manager Daniel Paynter said.
Staff scrambled to move carts and other equipment to higher ground as California Creek and the Logan River, which run through the course, merged. However the greens could not be saved and were expected to cost $30,000 each to repair.
"I was out looking around with our head professional with some torches and there was definitely some movement and I wouldn't be surprised if they were sharks.''
There are also fears bull sharks, linked to numerous attacks in Queensland and interstate, have spread across the Carbrook Golf Club, about 5km away.
However, it might not be all bad news. Just as Carbrook has benefited from the notoriety caused by its toothy inhabitants, Riverlakes could find itself cashing in on the adrenalin boost of retrieving lost balls from its water hazards.
Mr Evans said it was the 40th time the club had flooded in the past four years and the worst in its history, with the damage bill estimated to top $200,000.
Best of luck with the rebuilding guys.

PRO TIP:Getting out of trouble
To borrow a few words from a certain Mr. C. Montgomerie, "when in trouble make sure you get out of it".
Too often in Pro Ams I see golfers try and take on some miraculous shots with some outrageous scores.
When in trouble play to get out of it, if this means having to go sideways or even backwards in order to leave yourself with a shot to the green then so be it.
So next time you find yourself in trouble plan on getting out of trouble safely, first time and play the high percentages. Don't listen to the old saying that trees are around 80-90% air, yet they always make a noise when you try and play through them.
