Supreme Winner

Hello Golfers,
On Sunday we witnessed more history being made, following on from Peter Seniors win last week, we have a young champion who was making toppings for pizzas and working part time jobs in order to survive.
"I was making pizzas for five years and I worked for months as a traffic controller with a stop-go sign to get the money to go to European Tour School in 2010," Popovic said.
Popovic, ranked 1251 in the world, was rated a $401 chance before the tournament began. However, he led from the opening day and held his nerve over the remaining 54 holes to secure his maiden win as a professional.
Popovic started the final day with a with a two-shot lead over fellow Victorian Anthony Brown, but it was Pampling who threatened to ruin the fairytale. Pampling was unable to sustain his charge and the supreme Popovic charged home with a birdie, par finish.
Having made nothing on the goldfields of Kalgoorlie for the humble WA PGA just two months ago when he shot 80-75 to miss the cut. He struck gold in Coolum instead with an Odyssey Metal-X #7 putter he'd only had for a week.
"My confidence over the putter is unbelievable and I hope I can play every single round for the rest of my life with that confidence," he said.
"It's a funny story. I saw how good Ian Poulter putted at the Australian Masters and how good Luke Donald's stats were this year on the PGA Tour so I thought 'what the hell' why aren't I using that sort of putter," Popovic grinned.
Congratulations Daniel and all the best in your new golfing life.

Other News

A leading figure in the golf world, who edits one of the sport’s top magazines with a readership around 500,000, is calling for a boycott of Donald Trump’s Scottish course.
Bill Elliott – editor-at-large of Golf Monthly – has vowed never to set foot on the course after watching the documentary You’ve Been Trumped, broadcast by the BBC in October.
And the influential chairman of the Association of Golf Writers urges the publication’s readers to do the same, saying: “I suggest you join me.”
Think there may be something more going on between the two parties. Trump’s course has definitely divided many opinions, but only time will tell if the hype translates into the finished product.

PRO TIP:

Dry, Firm Fairways

The summer sun can really bite this time of year and leave fairways dry and dusty. When the fairways are like this simply changing your ball to one with a softer cover and higher spin rate will help your game.
Try taking one less club, as there is extra bounce from the hard fairways.
Have a great Christmas and a Happy New year.
NB: Golf Traders will be closed for Christmas, Boxing and New Years Day.
